A LITTLE GIRL SHOT AND KILLED BY A TOY PARLOR RIFLE -
The accidental shooting of little Hazel Adams, the 12 year old daughter of C H Adams, was one of the saddest deaths which has occurred here in a long time. Mrs. J.M. Motherway, the next door neighbor of Mrs. Adams had been annoyed by a stray cur which took refuge under their house, and she called little Hazel over to shoot the dog, giving her a small b b rifle. The first shot had no effect and the little girl went into Mrs. Motherway's house to reload the gun. After this she sat down on a chair with the butt of the loaded gun on the floor and the muzzle lying against her breast. Leo Motherway, aged 4 years, attempted to cock the trigger which slipped from his fingers, discharging the bullet. The shot took effect in the girl's heart and she died almost immediately.

The services will be held tomorrow afternoon at Wesminister Presbyterian Church, Dr Willoughby officiating.
