He was born July 21, 1909 in Pelican Rapids, the son of Anon and Anna (Bergstrom) Dahl. He lived with his family in Canada until his father died. When he was six-years old, he came to the United States with his brother, Nels, and resided at the Hans Stensrude residence. He attended School District No. 145 in Maplewood Township.
He married Fern Olds on May 3. 1934. The couple made their home near Fergus Fails
Mr. Dahl was employed by the Dieseth Construction Company for 13 years and had also worked on the Alaskan Highway.
For 16 years he owned the Riverside Cabins near Schmidt's Bridge. He then became involved in carpentry and cabinet work.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, Nels, who died in October, 1979.
Survivors include his wife. Fern Dahl of Fergus Falls, two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Hanson of Fergus Falls and Mrs. Ronald (Eldora) Monson of Staples; and five grandsons.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 9 a.m. iuntil 9 p.m. at the Olson Funeral Hume in Fergus Falls and will continue on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service.
