Chamberlain, S.D. - Memorial services for Nathan A. "Nick" Howard, Chamberlain, formerly of Davenport, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wevik Funeral Home, Chamberlain. No visitation will be held. Inurnment will be later. Mr. Howard died Sept. 5, 2001, his home.

He was a commercial plumber in Davenport, farmed for several years and had his own plumbing business in Reliance. He retired in 1985.

He was born May 12, 1922, in Davison County. He married Margaret Koch in 1942. He served two years in the military.

Survivors include daughters, Karen Hieb, Burnsville, Minn., Linda Abramson, Connersville, Ind., Mitzi Ossman, Davenport, and Roxann Hardesty, Milan, Ill.; a son, Nick, Joplin, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Stephens, Gann Valley, Gene Jirsa, Highmore, Ruth Jirsa, Tucson, Ariz., LaVee Blindauer, Mitchell, Fay Day, La Canada, Calif., and Lora Thomas, West Hills, Calif.; and brothers, Bob, Valparaiso, Ind., Bill, San Jose, Calif., and John, White Lake.
