Memorial services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be at a later date in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.
Dorothy was born Oct. 22, 1917, in Rock Island, a daughter of Edward Batt and Mary Jacobs Batt. She married Lawrence "Rick" Banfield on July 27, 1974, in Rock Island. She was previously married to Albert Janssen and later to Douglas "Dud" Pentland.
Prior to her retirement she was employed with Servus Rubber Co., Rock Island, for more than 35 years. She was a former member of the women's groups of the Rock Island Elks Lodge and Rock Island Moose Lodge.
She enjoyed dancing and attending activities at the Rock Island VFW with her husband. She loved her home and was a gifted indoors and outdoors gardener, particularly with flowers.
Surviving are her husband, Lawrence Banfield, Rock Island; stepdaughter, Kathy Priester, and her husband Lou, St. Louis, Mo.; stepgrandchildren, Mark Priester, Leslie Pereda, and her husband Vernon, and L. Brad Priester II; stepgreat-grandchildren, Tiarra and Christian Pereda; sister, Phyllis George, and a brother, Kenny Batt, both of Rock Island. Preceding her in death were her husbands, Albert and Douglas; a son, Jan Janssen; and two sisters, Mildred Sackfield and Margaret Eisentrager.
