Clemson, Sept 27, Henry M.
Fendley, 83, died at his home here
at 3 p.m. Wednesday following a
critical illness of a few hours. He
had been in declining health for
several years.
Mr. Fendley had spent his entire
life in this immediate community.
He was a son of the late Daniel
and Harriet Whitmire Fendley.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eliza-
beth Barrett Fendley; two sons,
Frank J. and George M. Fendley of
Clemson; two daughters, Mrs. Bay-
lis Gordan and Mrs. B.M. White of
Clemson; one sister, Mrs. Eliza
Boggs of Seneca, Route 1; 25 grand-
children and five great grandchild-
dren.
Funeral services will be held at
Duckett Funeral Home in Central
Thursday at 4 p.m. conducted by
the Rev. U.G. Wilson and the Reve.
A.C.Harrison. Interment will be
in Old Stone Church Cemetery
near Clemson.
Grandsons will be pallbearers:
Tom Gordon, James Turner, Glenn,
Claude, Jack and Ray Fendley.
The body is at the funeral home.
