Mrs. Jennette Sherman Hoban VanGuilder, announcement of whose death was made in The Advertiser last week, was born at Russell, Geauga Count, Ohio, June 13, 1845, and died at her home in Wahjamega, May 23, 1932. She was the daughter of Samuel and Eunice Sherman and the last of a family of nine children. When a small child she removed with her parents to Auburn, Ind., where she grew to womanhood and married Patrick Hoban. To this union was boron a son, Alva T. Hoban of Detroit. In 1870 she came to this county, and August 19, 1871 married Henry A. VanGuilder who died June 8, 1928. She had been in failing health for nearly two years, most of which time she had been confined to her bed. About two weeks ago she developed pneumonia from which she died.

Besides her son Alva, she is survived by two sons, Fred VanGuilder of Detroit, Roy VanGuilder of Pontiac; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Walker at home; a step-son, Leonard VanGuilder of Millersburg, two stepdaughters, Mrs. H.F. Berry of Gilford, Mrs. Eva Lonsdale of Buckingham, Canada, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Wahjamega church Thursday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. H.P. Cornell officiating, with burial in Wahjamega Cemetery. Huston-Collon were in charge of arrangements.
