Robert Akins, 67, Noble, died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday in Richland Memorial Hospital.

Services will be in the Noble Christian Church with Bro. Martin Stump presiding. Visitation will be in Hosselton-Bookhout-Engelmeier Funeral Home in Noble. Burial will be Noble Cemetery with full military rites. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Akins was born May 14, 1919, in Noble, the son of Thomas and Nellie (Dickerson) Akins, Sr. He married Ruby Scott Oct. 8, 1940, in St. Charles, Mo.

He was a retired supervisor from AMF. He was a member of the Noble Christian Church, a World War II veteran, Noble American Legion, the Disabled Americans Veterans, and the Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife Ruby; Jerry Akins, Lenior, N.C.; 5 sisters, Lenora Padgett, Champaign; Ruby Lindenbush, St. Louis, Mo.; Cleo Junkins, Villa Grove; Mary Hunley, Indianapolis, Ind.; Blanche Kleber, Carlye, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, 2 sisters, and a brother.
