Mrs. Mary (Weide) Reep, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Godfried Weide was born in 1883 in Coffey County, near Burlington. She passed away September 29, 1969 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
Mary was married to Otto Reep on October 24, 1907.
Mr. and Mrs. Reep lived in Kansas City approximately 14 years, where Mr. Reep was a contract carrier for the K.C. Star. They lived in Leona, Kans, approximately five years. In 1926 they moved to Yates Center where they lived the remainder of their lives. Mr. Reep preceded his wife in death in August 1951.
Mrs. Reep was converted early in life and united with the Evangelical Church which is now a part of the United Methodist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Reep were the parents of four children two of whom preceded their mother in death. There remains to mourn her passing one daughter, Elma Greer, Kansas City, Kans., one son John Reep, Wichita; one brother, Otto Weide, Vinita Okla.' six grandchildren, our great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services in her memory were held at 2:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon, October 2, from the Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. C.O. Bickel and Rev. Richard Johnson, officiating. Singers Elaine Horsch, Mae Weide, Baul Brilke and Walter Weide accompanied by Esther Brilke sang "Abide With Me" and 'How Great Thou Art." Casketbearers were Norman Greet, Donald Reep, Ronald Williams, Leonard Riffel, Gerald Zarda and Elmer Weide. Interment in Yates Center Cemetery.
