DELLA ANDERSON
Della Anderson, daughter of Edward and Sophie Arnold, was born September 2, 1876, on a farm in Benton Township, Lucas County, Iowa, and passed away at McCord's Rest Haven on September 18, 1968, at the age of 92 years, two weeks and two days.
She taught school several years in Lucas County before her marriage. On February 26, 1901, she was united in marriage to John F. Anderson, who preceded her in death on February 18, 1968.
She was a lifetime member of the United Brethren Church of Otterbein, and lived her entire life on a farm south of Chariton until they retired and moved to Chariton in 1943.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Anderson, and one daughter, Myrtle; her parents, and two brothers; four sisters; and one son-in-law, Leonard Davis.
Surviving are one son, Ivan Anderson, two daughters, Mrs. Fern Davis, and Mrs. Opal Shanks; 12 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one brother, Jim Arnold; and several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. L. W. Mendenhall at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 21, 1968, at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
