Alma Louise Richarz, 84, of Boise, died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at home of natural causes.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2016 at Morris Hill Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Thursday, (today), from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Alma was born on July 3, 1931, in Cambridge, Idaho, to Nora Ann Kester and Herman Rippen. She grew up in Idaho where the family homesteaded at Cow Creek, near Cambridge. Alma came to Boise at the age of 16 and worked at Cress Dime store. On January 14, 1952, Alma married Chester W. Richarz in Winnemucca, NV. Together they made their home in Boise where they raised their four children.
Alma was a homemaker but also was a Tupperware Dealer. Over the years she won many awards through Tupperware, including a car. Alma was first and foremost a wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed her family and was known as Oma to all her grandkids and great grandkids. Alma enjoyed traveling and went on an annual trip with her daughters. She loved needlework, was always busy gardening, was avid about yard sales, and through genealogy traced the family tree back to the 1400's.
Alma was a life-long member of the Followers of Christ.
Survivors include her children, Mark and Cathi Richarz, Naples, FL, John and Shelia Richarz, Burns, OR, Janet and David Bowman, Emmett, ID and Ginger and John Henderson, Boise, ID; grandchildren, Christopher, Danielle, JR, Latisha, Kristen, Ashley, Hans, Hilaire, and Meta; step-grandchildren, Danielle, April, Jade, Alex and Brad; twenty-one great grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, six brothers, John, Norman, Arnold, Dick, Jack and Dale Rippen, and one sister, Esther.
