Earnest Andrew Amick, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Amick, was born at Norden, Nebraska on March 25, 1914, and passed away July 10, 1930, at the age of 16 years, 4 months and 15 days at his home near Springview. Nebraska.
He spent most of his childhood at Bronson and Hartley, Iowa, and while at Hartley was a member of the Evangelical Church.
He moved with his parents to his present home about three years ago and has been a faithful member of the Union Sunday School of this place since.
He met his untimely death by the accidental discharge of a shotgun which he had taken to the field to shoot crows with. It seems he went to pull the gun up on his lap at the end of the field and it accidently discharged and shot him through the side. His father found him a short time later and helped him to the house where he passed away 24 hours later.
He leaves to mourn his untimely death a father, mother, one sister, Mildred Horton, two brothers Marion and Harold, and other relatives and a host of sympathizing friends.
