Tom Pense, 63, of Mountainburg died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
He was born May 15, 1947, in Fort Smith, the son of Aaron and Velma Hayes Pense.
He was a water treatment plant operator for the city of Fort Smith and attended Winfrey Valley Tabernacle Church. He also served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Tom was a mountain man who loved children and the outdoors, and he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sharon Center Pense; a son, Aaron Zachariah "Zack" Pense of Mountainburg; two brothers, Jim Pense of West Fork and Jay Pense of Fayetteville; a sister, Sue Philpott of West Fork; and two grandchildren, Cash Pense and Scarlett Raven Pense.
Funeral service was 2 p.m. Friday at Living Faith Church in Fayetteville with Pastor Roy Biswell officiating. Interment was at 4:30 p.m. at Pense-Reed Cemetery.
