Herman was born November 1, 1928 in Sheboygan to Herman and Hilda Krepsky Luedke. He graduated from Sheboygan North High School, Class of 1947.
He served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany.
On June 25, 1949 Herman was united in marriage to Lois Brill of Kiel, Wisconsin.
Herman worked with his father at Luedke Bros. Meat Market, located on N. 15th St., since his childhood. He became president of the company in 1972, making the "best sausage in town" until his retirement in February of 1996.
Many happy times were spent at the family cottage on Cedar Lake. Herman and Lois enjoyed traveling during their retirement years.
In addition to his wife, Lois, Herman is survived by three children, Barbara (David) Kolar, Scott (Diane) Luedke all of Sheboygan and Douglas Luedke of Hales Corners, WI; six granddaughters, Allison (Ted) Peterman, Melissa, Kimberly, and Elicia Kolar, and Laura and Margot Luedke; and other family members.
In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha; and two sisters, Elva Primozic and Doris Becker.
Funeral services will be held Monday, at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Rev. Roger W. Clapp will officiate. Entombment will take place in Gardens of Peace Mausoleum. Herman was a "hard working man" who will always be remembered for his devotion to his family and his gentle, caring ways.
