In 1854, Missouri granted letters to 14 members to form a new church at Glover. Elihu and Peter Ruble were chosen as the 1st two deacons of the newly formed Big Creek United Baptist Church. Maria died sometime between 1860 and 1864 but I cannot locate where she is is buried.
Elihu remarried on April 28th 1864 to Margaret Elvira (Smith) Pinkley. She was a widow with three children whose 1st husband died as a soldier in the civil war. Elihu and Elvira had 4 children. Isaac born 1865, Mary Olive (Ollie) born 1866, Hugh Brown born 1868 and William born 1870. Elvira died on October 15th 1915. She was buried at Big Creek Cemetery with no stone.
