Elias had an identicle twin brother named Silas. He and Silas and some of their brothers and cousins all served in the same WV Union unit and company during the Civil War. He and his twin had fun playing tricks on their commanders and others pretending to be each other for laughs. Elias came back from the war with what we now call PTSD like many if not most of the men did back then having witnessed and done so much. His son William Elias Rucker became a war hero in WW1 also coming back with PTSD. He is from Elias 2nd marriage to Sarah Jane Justice V.
According to civil war records Elias had dark hair and dark skin but blue eyes. My father's y-DNA father to son DNA profile shows various African throughout it as does mine and my daughter's DNA profiles that say it comes from my dad.
Elias was probably mixed with black and white to an unknown degree.
Elias's son William was mixed with Cherokee due to Elias's 2nd wife being Cherokee with a bit of African in her as well.
Elias comes from some very interresting ancestors that in time I hope to get linked to him on here.
