He was the husband of #1-Harriett N. DeLine (1850-1888) and #2-Lydia M. DeLine (1870-1943).

Old Comrades Babbitt and Higgins Answer Final Roll and Depart.

The rapidly thinning ranks of Spokane's G.A.R. veterans suffered further loss this morning and last night in the death of two of its prominent members.

Sylvester Babbitt, age 83, a resident of this city for 14 years and well known member of the G.A.R. died this morning at the Deaconess hospital. He resided at E1013 Bridgeport avenue and is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edward O. Clark, at that address. The body is at Smith & Co.'s.

James W. Higgins, age 76, who resided at N1521 Crestline street, passed away last night at his home. He lived her for the last three years and was a member of the G.A.R., the Masonic lodge of Hillyard and the Eastern Star.
His is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lydia Higgins, four sons, Dr. A.J. Higgins of Elgin, Ill, William Higgins of Republic, H.G. Higgins of Des Moines, G.C. Higgins of Spokane, and two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Ramey of Aberdeen and another daughter in Rapid City, Iowa. The body is at Smith & C's awaiting funeral arrangements.
