TROY, Mich. — C.R. (Cyrus Robert) Brown, 90, of Troy, formerly of Caraway, died Friday afternoon at the Medilodge Nursing Facility in Rochester Hills, Mich.

He was born to Bowdie and Maggie Howard Brown on Dec. 14, 1919, at Newport.

He was a Baptist and a Mason, as well as a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Helen Brown, and two brothers, Lloyd and Raymond Brown; and his parents.

Mr. Brown is survived by two daughters, Paulette Fleming of Troy, Mich., and Wynette Hall of Gaithersburg, Md.; one son, Paul Brown of Jonesboro; one sister, Bess Fortenberry of Cabot; one brother, Frank Brown of Atoka, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Mark Fleming and Matthew and Katie Hall.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home in Jonesboro. The Rev. Winfred Bridges will officiate with burial following in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Dan Finch, Alan Finch, John Stogsdill, Jerry Stogsdill, Mark Fleming and Matthew Hall.

Honorary pallbearers are Jessie Fleming, Randy Fortenberry, Jim Fletcher, Cotton Fisher, E.L. Wilson, Russell Moore and Jess Kelems.

Visitation will be from 5-7 this evening at the Funeral Home Jonesboro.
