Funeral services for Mrs. Cecil (Mable) Blackbourn of Blossom were held Sunday, 14 June, at the First United Methodist Church in Blossom with the Revs. Gary Regan and Dennis McQueen officiating.

Burial was in Knights of Honor Cemetery. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Blackbourn died Saturday, 13 Jun 1981 at Cherry Street Manor Nursing Home.

The former Mable M. Lowrance was born 4 Jan 1896 in Lamar County, the daughter of George Lowrance and Catherine Bentley Lowrance.

She attended Blossom schools, Kidd-Key College in Sherman, and Converse College in Spartanburg, S.C.

She was a longtime member of the Methodist Church in Blossom serving as its pianist for over 50 years.

She was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class and a former member of the Paris Music Study Club.

She taught piano in the Blossom area for a number of years.

She married Cecil Grey Blackbourn on 26 Jul 1925 and he preceded her in death on 24 Aug 1973.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Harold Blackburn of Blossom and Mrs. Buford Hervey of Kilgore; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Richard Lowrance of San Angelo.
