Harry was the oldest son of William W. and Katherine (Aszmus) Acklam. He was a student of the Howell School. Howell students and teachers laid a ribbon on his desk in remembrance of a well-liked lad and a good student and friend.
Harry Acklam was survived by his parents; his grandmother Katherine (Rice) Aszmus of Racine; his paternal grandmother Harriett (Bean) Acklam of Racine; and two brothers, Jesse and Roy, and one sister, Ida Mae, all at home.
Harry was preceded in death by his grandfather, George W. Acklam, Sr.
His memorial gravestone at the Mound Cemetery in Racine is engraved with these words:
"Our home is now a quiet place; a little voice was stilled. It leaves a void within our home, which never can be filled."
