Cedarburg friends mourn with Dr. A. D. Backus over the loss of his mother, Mrs. William F. Backus, which occurred at her home at Kewaskum Tuesday morning at three o’clock. She had been ailing for some time and was confined to her bed the last two weeks. She suffered an attack of appendicitis and was operated Monday and passed away Tuesday morning at the age of 61 years. Her mother died last week at the age of 82.
Mrs. Anna Backus nee Wittenberg, was born in the Town of Cedarburg on Aug. 16, 1864 and was married to William Backus on Nov. 7, 1899 at Kewaskum, who with one son, Dr. Alvin D. Backus of Cedarburg survive.
