J.G. Thompson, Randolph Native, Passes Tuesday

Funeral service of Mr. Jesse Grady Thompson, 82, was held last Wednesday afternoon at 5:00 o'clock at Rehobeth Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Joiner of Atlanta and the Rev. Clive Buttemere officiating, Interment was in Eastview Cemetery in Shellman.

Mr. Thompson died at Dawson Manor Tuesday after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 5, 1890 in Upson County, Georgia, son of James L. Thompson and Mattie Ellington Thompson.

Mr. Thompson was active in civic affairs as long as his health permitted. He served as chairman of the Randolph County democratic executive committee for many years.

He was preceded in death by a son W. Albert Thompson, and is survived by his wife Maude Bynum Thompson; two sons, John L. Thompson of Fox Island, Washington and Roy G. Thompson of Shellman

Pallbearers were James Bridges,Ben Bridges and George Huckaby, all of Thomaston, R. E. Thompson, Jr. of Albany, J. S McLeod, Jr. and Jimmy Thompson of Shellman.
