Lovie T. Hamilton Johnson, 95, of Crossville, formerly of Kingston, passed away Feb. 9, 2005. Funeral services were conducted Feb. 12 from the chapel of Biereley-Hale Funeral Home of Madisonville, TN, with the Rev. James Atkins and the Rev. Gerald Atkins officiating. Interment was in Sunset Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson was born May 25, 1909 in Tellico Plains, TN, the daughter of Thomas M. and Ellen Hamilton. She was a retired public school teacher after having taught special education in the Roane County School System for several years. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee. Survivors include her nieces, Carolyn Slack of Delaware, OH, Mary Morton of Townsend, Phyllis Pitz of Akron, OH and Joyce Davis of Ohio; nephews, Fred J. Ingram of Crossville, Bob Ingram of Madisonville and Benny Davis of Louisville, KY; and several great-nieces and -nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Johnson.
