Byerley Richard L, 55, R. 1, Kendallville, died Sunday in McCray Hospital. He was born Oct. 10, 1925 in Huntertown, the son of Henry and Laura (Eby) Byerley. He married Rosella I. Emerick Jan. 3, 1953 in Garrett. He had lived most of his life in the Kendallville area and had been self-employed in the roofing business for 15 years. He had been a driver for the East Noble School Corporation for 15 years, was a Navy veteran of WW II and was a member of the American Legion Post 86. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Vicki L., Philadelphia, Pa.; five sons, Richard L. II, Fort Wayne, Gary E Roderick, Ronald D., Bruce H., and Timothy W. all R. 1, Kendallville; four sisters, Mrs. Walter (Jo) Fosnaugh, Mrs. Carroll (Agnes) Scott, and Mrs. Wilber (Hilda) Spangle, all from Huntertown, and Mrs. Martha Folken, Fort Wayne; a brother, Clifton D., Huntertown; and five grandchildren. Services Wednesday in Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home. ~ 12-11-1980
