Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Memorials may be to WVIK Augustana College Public Radio.
Mr. Thompson was born May 2, 1940, in Rock Island, the son of Keith and Eileen Watts Bradley. He was a 1958 graduate of Rock Island High School.
Garry was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Mr. Thompson was a transit supervisor for MetroLink. Prior to that, he had been a bus driver for Davenport City Transit and later for MetroLink.
He was an active volunteer for the Quad City Visitor's Bureau and the Illinois Railway Museum, Union, Ill.
Garry is survived by special friends, Rod Wardlow, Rock Island, and Mark and Marilyn Cook, Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
