William J. Klyn, 76, of 510 E. 17th St. N., a resident of Newton since March, 1990, died Tuesday morning, May 7, at Heritage Manor Care Center of pneumonia.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Reese Chapel.

The Rev. Jerry Brown, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are a son, Larry of West Des Moines; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Hattie Sleigh of Prairie City and Jeanette Adams of Killduff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Gertrude, April, 1990, a brother, Raymond, and a sister, Wilma.

Mr. Klyn, an equipment operator for Cessford Construction Co. of Le Grand, had lived in Le Grand for 25 years prior to moving to Newton.

The son of William J. and Minnie Van Gilst Klyn, he was born May 8, 1914 in Killduff.
