Jerry Lee Oakes, age 85 of Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of Butler, Missouri, died Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City. He was born October 21, 1924 to Emzy Farmer Oakes, Sr. and his third wife, Ruby Maurine (Wilson) Oakes, in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Oakes of Kansas City, Missouri; one son, Mitchell Oakes and wife Karen of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Maurine McLean of Pacifica, California; two grandsons, Jason Oakes and wife Michelle of Butler, Missouri and Brandon Oakes and wife Katie of Leawood, Kansas; four great-grandchildren, Braden, Ryland, Macy Belle and Holden and nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Eleanor Holman; a brother-in-law, Nat McLean; and a half-brother, Emzy Farmer Oakes, Jr.
