JANE THOMPSON ADAMS was the daughter of John "Bear Creek" Thompson and Annabelle Wasson Thompson. Her father died fighting Indians on August 27, 1823 in Missouri, when Jane was only 12 years old. The following year, her mother married John Adams, Jr.

Jane Thompson Adams married her step-brother Joseph Adams. Her mother Annabelle Wasson Thompson Adams' second husband was Joseph's father John Adams, Jr.

Jane and Joseph had 11 children. At 54 years of age, Joseph fought in the Civil War with Company G of the 134th Pennsylvania Infantry.

Jane lived to 84 years old.
