Mrs. J. L. Moorhouse Passes Away Saturday

Revered Woman Dies at Her Home North if Kingman Following Brief Illness

Mrs. J. L. Moorhouse, 67, died at her home north of Kingman Saturday. Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Varner Methodist church, following a brief service at the home, conducted by Rev. Robert Foster of Pretty Prairie and Pastor of the Varner church. a brief service was also held at the Lansdown cemetery east of Murdock where the interement was made.

The pall bearers were cousins of Mr. Moorhouse. they were Dallas Moorhouse, Ed Moorhouse, Roy Moorhouse, Clarence Moorhouse, Oren Moorhouse and Eldon Moorhouse.

Elsie Arizetta Clark was bor near Newiston, Ill., September 29, 1865; died after a brief illness at 12:30 p.m., October 5, 1935. She was six days past 67 years of age.

She was married to J. L. Moorhouse May 26, 1886. to them five children were born, all of whom, with their father survive. They are William S., Kingsport, Tenn., Frank C., Chicage, Ill., Leona Matthews, Dodge City; Ethyl Hess, Spearville; Mary VanWormer Independence, Mo. If the wife and mother had lived Mr. and Mrs. Moorhosue would have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary May 26, 1938.

In 1908 the family moved to Ford county and from there to Kingman county in 1983.

At teh age of 19 Mrs. Moorhosue united with the Providence Methodist Episcopal church in Illinois and was an active member of that denomination until her death. She was a true and loving companion and mother and many the friends who enjoyed the hospitality of her home. She was a character of the highest type.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Matthews anc children of Dodge City, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Moorhouse of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs Len Hess and children of spearville, Mr. and Mrs. Ray VanWormer and Romona of Independence, MO., and Mrs. Harvey Beshore and children and Leonard Base south of Kingman.

Mrs. J. L. Moorhouse leaves to mourn her passing her husband, five children named ablve, eighteen grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and many other relatives and firends.
