Judge Robert T Oney died at Boise, Idaho, on Friday, August 24.
Judge Oney was well known in Bluefield, having been cashier of the People's Bank until its absorption by the First National in 1898. Judge Oney was held in high esteem. He was originally a native of Bedford county, Va, and served with gallantry as a Confederate soldier during the war between the states.
He was 73 years of age at the time of his death and the immediate cause was tuberculosis.
