Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, Marcus, with Rev. Ronald Kramer officiating. Burial will be at Marcus-Amherst Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Earnest and Roethler Funeral Chapel, Marcus.
Mrs. Pitts, the former Blanche Ione Barnes, was born May 26, 1901, at Marcus. She was the daughter of Walter and Lora (Houston) Barnes. She married Dale Pitts on May 24,1921, at Marcus. They farmed for manyv years south of Marcus. Mr. Pitts died in a farm accident in 1940. Mrs. Pitts then moved into Marcus where she lived until entering the Happy Siesta Nursing Home at Remsen in August 1983. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the UMW. She also was a member of the Hobby Club.
Survivors include two sons, Robert and his wife, Edna, of Lakewood, Calif., and Kenneth of San Diego, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Catherine, and her husband, Paul Ogren, of Marcus; a niece, Lotus, and her husband, Kenneth Wittkamp, of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne, and a daughter, Doris.
