Obituary
John Moorhouse was born in Refan*, Derbyshire, England, in the year 1814 and died at the home of his son in Milo, Warren county, Iowa Friday, July 3, 1903, at the age of 89 years and 2 days.
Mr. Moorhouse came with his parents to America when 16 years of age and located in Carroll county, Ohio. He was married to Hannah C. Nodurft, April 6, 1837, To this union were born ten children, six of of whom are living. He with his family came to Marion county, Iowa, in 1848 where they resided until the year 1891 when he came to Warren county, Iowa, and made his home with his son, J. F. Moorhouse.
His companion departed this life September 28, 1881.
Father Moorhouse was a very strong believer in Christianity and contributed liberally for the support of the gospel. He was a very patient sufferer and often expressed himself as being fully prepared for the future and anxious to leave this world of affliction and be at rest..
After funeral services at the house conducted by Rev. Pond, assisted by Rev. Goode and Rev. Fair, the body was taken to Teter cemetery, Marion county, Iowa, for burial.
