Following is the article that was in the paper regarding the death of John Boland Collins:

GLENDO AIR PILOT KILLED IN CRASH

The body of 2nd Lt. J. B. Collins, 22, son of George Collins of Glendo, arrived in Douglas Wednesday morning from the west coast and was placed in charge of Mortician C. H. Hofmann. This afternoon Mr. Hofmann took the remains to Glendo and is assisting in funeral services and burial there. Full military honors will be accorded the young flyer, who perished when his plane crashed in the Pacific off Santa Barbara, Calif.

An army chaplain from Casper will conduct the services, assisted by a Veterans of Foreign Wars firing squad, taps and other military honors. Ensign Floyd Turner, who was in training with Lt. Collins for a time, will attend the services.

Lt. Collins was a fighter pilot in the Marine Corp. He had just recently completed his training and was ready to put his training to practical use against the enemy. He was flying a fast Corsair pursuit plance in a large formation when in some unaccountable manner the rubber life raft strapped to his body started to inflate. The expanding raft enveloped the controls of the plane and it crashed in the sea about 30 miles off the coast.
