Wayne C. Meyer, 84, of Zelienople, passed away peacefully June 30, 2008. Wayne was a decorated bombardier, serving as a second lieutenant with the Eighth Air Force in the European Theater during World War II. He lived life with zeal and was an avid sailor, traveler, golfer, skier and a good friend to many. Wayne's entrepreneurial drive was expressed through his two businesses, Standard Office Supply, where he spent the majority of his career developing a commercial interior design business, and the Brady Street Cafe. Prior to retirement, he was a member of Syria Temple, Pittsburgh Athletic Association, South Hills Country Club, Oakmont Country Club and the Duquesne Club. Survivors are his sister and her husband, JoAnn and Ronald Livingston; son and his wife, Steve and Dana Meyer; daughter and her husband, Marla Meyer and Steve Papernick; and granddaughters, Brittney Meyer and Zoe and Allie Papernick. A memorial service and luncheon reception will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Fox Chapel, 1610 Powers Run Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15238. Arrangements by JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME INC. Memorials may be made to the Church Building Fund or to the Lutheran SeniorLife Passavant Retirement Community, 401 South Main St., Zelienople, PA 16063-1579.
