Myrtle Moorehouse
Myrtle Fields Moorehouse, 83, 100 Netherland Inn lane, Kingsport, died Wednesday (July 21, 1993) in Asbury Center at Baysmount after an extended illness.
Born in Russell County, Virginia, she was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church and the U.M.W. She was past worthy matron at the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 198.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ida Fields and two brothers, Leston and Alden Fields.
Surviving are her husband, Glen Moorehouse of the home, one daughter, Sue Moorehouse Cumbow, Piney Flats, Two sons, Cris Moorehouse, Kingsport, and Glen Evan Moorehouse of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Retha Bevins, Cedar Lake, IN; two brothers R.W. Fields, Redwood City, CA and Ernest Fields, Morristown, New Jersey; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 PM Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with Dr. Toombs Kay officiating.
Entombment will be in Oak Hill Mausoleum.
