Larry Van Allen, 69, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2010, in Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia.
Born April 22, 1940, in Kingstree, he was the son of the late William Brunson and Ruby Bradham Allen. He was a retired car salesman, earned a Bachelors Degree at the University of South Carolina, and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are partner Paul Kennedy of Elgin; a daughter, Kimberly Atkinson and her husband Jamie of Lexington; a son, Stephen Allen and wife Melissa Turner of Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Gayle Allen of Columbia and Betty Hollis of Springfield, VA; two grandchildren, Tommy and Tyler Atkinson.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning. Burial was in New Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Ledford, John Cely, Tommy Atkinson, Roger Morris, Leroy Hood, and Tiger Thomas.
