David was the son of Hamilton B. Burner & Dollie Price. He married Mattie Virginia Gray on 14 October 1905 & they had 1 daughter. David's brother Charles Burner lost his wife & 3 sons on 6 January 1915 as the result of murder. The family's horrible death was the doings of a man by the name of Will Nichols, who did the terrible deed with an axe. Nichols later committed suicide at the unoccupied home of Wesley Price.
