EDWARD HARMS
Funeral services for Edward Harms, 78, were held Feb. 16 at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, Monticello with burial in Wayne Zion Cemetery. Rev. Harvey O. Gilbertson officiated at the services.
Mr. Harms died Feb. 14 at his home in Amber following a brief illness.
He was born March 21, 1902, in Wayne Township, Jones County, the son of Henry E. and Harmine Elizabeth Zimmerman. He received his early education in the rural Wayne school.
Edward Harms and Martha Rickels were married April 7, 1926, in the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, Monticello. They lived in Wayne Township where he farmed until 1941 when they moved to Amber. He had been a Chester White hog breeder for 40 years.
Mrs. Harms preceded him in death Nov. 25, 1974.
He is survived by two sons, Raymond E. Harms, Marion and Galen H. Harms, Amber. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Casket bearers were Steve Menster, Milton Harms, Ervin Heeren, Robert Aldrich, Duane Wenndt and Loren Tonne.
