Private, Company E, 7th US Cavalry. Killed in action during the Battle of the Little Big Horn, along with General George A. Custer and most of the 7th Cavalry. Originally enlisted as George P. Walker, he was also known as George P. Weldon.

He enlisted on 12 December 1874, in New York City at age 22, listing his previous occupation as Hostler. He was 5 feet, 6 inches tall, with gray eyes, brown hair, and a florid complexion. He was not married. During the battle, his company was assigned to Custer's column, and was wiped out on Last Stand Hill. Originally buried where they fell, the bodies were reinterred in July 1877 to the mass grave on top of Last Stand Hill. His mother, Margaret, received a pension of $12 per month until her death on 21 Nov 1904.
