He was born in St. James, Mo. on Jan. 29, 1934, the son of Lowell and June Kincaid Laughlin. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death. He married Barbara Mingus on Sept. 4, 1959. She survives.
He also is survived by his children, Kim (Lynn) Richardson, Pflugerville, Texas; Jill (Ron) Navis, Heyworth; Gregory (Catherine) Laughlin, Springfield, Mo. and Laura (Jim) Nichols, Bloomington; six grandchildren, Gerald and Geoffrey Richardson, Sara, Andrew and Erica Navis and Lauren Nichols; three step grandchildren, Isabella, Michael and Elizabeth Nichols; three brothers, Cleon (Alita) Laughlin, Mankato, Minnesota; Charles Laughlin, Washington and Clifford (Pat) Laughlin, Chaska, Minnesota and one sister, Charlotte Pena, Peru.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1956 and served two years in Stuttgart, Germany, with the 7th Army Headquarters.
