Private, Company K, 7th US Cavalry.

He enlisted on 10 Dec 1872 in Troy, NY, listing his previous occupation as a barber. A survivor of the Battle of the Little Big Horn, in which General George A. Custer and most of the 7th Cavalry were killed, he later died in 1877 during the Snake Creek Fight (in Montana) against Chief Joseph's band of Nez Perce Indians. During the Battle of the Little Big Horn, his company was part of Captain Benteen's Battalion. He was buried at the Custer National Cemetery. He was 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and had black eyes, black hair, and a dark complexion. He was not married.
