Graveside services for Wally W. Meeks, 73, of Burleson, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 11, 2010 in the Rosehill Cemetery, Cleburne. Mr. Meeks died peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in Fort Worth. He was born to Frederic Raymond and Dorothy May Weber Meeks on May 24, 1937 in Louisville, KY and was raised by his grandmother, who was of a great influence on his life. He was of the Catholic faith and in his younger years, studied for priesthood. Wanting to be like his brothers, he joined the United States Navy. He served during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid reader and was a consultant for several military history books. Wally had a giving heart and great sense of humor. His loving nature and quiet spirit will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him. Wally was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frederic Raymond (Fred) Meeks, II, George G. Meeks and Hillard (Mike) Meeks; and sister, Henrietta Gresham. Survivors include his sister, Nellie May (Terry) Perry and her husband, Mac as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation No scheduled visitation. Interment Rosehill Cemetery.
