SSG Kuvik was killed in action in the Binh Duong Province of Vietnam in January 1968. Gene Kuvik was a resident of Mesa, where he attended schools and joined the Army in 1958. SSG Kuvik was an Armor Reconnaisance Specialist with B Troop of 1st Squadron, 11th Armord Cavalry and was awarded the Purple Heart.
