Because her son, 15, was shot and killed by a Santa Fe special officer, Mrs. Jennie Airhart filed suit in district court Saturday for $15,000 damages against the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe Railway Company.

The boy, William Airhart, had been working in Galveston, and was riding a freight train trying to get back to Fort Worth, Sept. 12, of this year. In Alta Loma he was shot and fatally wounded by Ike Hawkins, alleged to have been a Santa Fe employe, who claimed the boy was trying to break into a box car. He died while being taken back to Galveston.
