Allie Wauldene Atkinson Cook, 85, of Stephenville, died Monday, November 27, 2000, at her home.

Funeral service was set for 10 a.m. Thursday, November 30, at the First United Methodist Church in Stephenville with Rev. Fred Winslow officiating.

Family visitation was scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Allie Wauldene Atkinson was born in Bridgeport on August 18, 1915 to Allie Hudson and John Atkinson. The Hudson and Atkinson families settled in Wise County in the 1800s. Allie Wauldene married Stanley J. Cook in October 1933 in Bridgeport. In 1945 she and her husband moved from Oak ridge, Tennessee, where Mr. Cook had been employed as a vital defense worker. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church, and was lovingly referred to as "Mama Dene." She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley J. cook, in 1995; a son, Paul Cook in 1999; also by three siblings, Wilford Atkinson, Warren Atkinson, and Pansy Lee Lumsden Buzzo.

She is survived by a daughter, Joyce E. Cook of Stephenville; grandchildren, Cynthia Parham of Stephenville, Carla Jo Cook of Decatur, J. Paul Cook of Decatur; a sister, Estelle Peninger of Georgetown; great grandchildren, Matthew Parham, Webb Kittinger, Chloe Kittinger and Katie Parham; niece, Debra Lynn Stasey of Stephenville; and several nieces nephews.

Interment was to be in the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville.

The family requests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Stephenville or to Foster's Home for Children.
