Gage Valley news - Died, on Wednesday, February 10, in Hayes county, Nebraska, of disease of the kidneys, Henry Clay Stratton. Deceased was born in Bennington, Vt., April 26, 1844.

At the age of 18 he enlisted in company A, Fourteenth Vermont Infantry, where he served nine months, afterwards re-enlisting in the Second Vermont Battery and was mustered out of service in August, 1865.

He came to Howard county, Nebraska, in 1880 and moved to Hayes county in 1887. A loving wife and three children, George H. of Eddy, Nebr., Mrs. William Dukes of Palmer, and Mrs. E. E. Staynor [Slaynor?] of [illegible, H???ok] survive him.
