Chrystal Lee Kahala Miller Johnson, 53, of Roanoke, Va., died on Thursday, October 7, 2010. Born in Kauai County, Lihue, Hawaii. Chrystal considered both Hawaii and Roanoke her home. She retired from Blue Ridge Community Services in 2001, and spent her retirement enjoying her family, her many friends, and her cats, Penny and Bratty. She was an avid bird watcher, loved books, gardening, (but hated goats) and was famous for her mac-and-cheese. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Johnson; and her son, Christopher Paul Kalani. Survivors include her father, Burke Miller; her mother, Lihue Miller (Lee); son, Justin Burke Kahikuonalani Young; daughter, Amanda Lee Keikialoha Savage and her husband, Wesley; sisters, Melody-Ann Kamalulani Wilks, Erica-Lynn Kapiolani Sheppard, Dawn-Elise Kehaulani Beauprez, and Robyn-Sue Kahealani Brooks; nieces, Ashlyn, Sierra, Kayla, Taylor, and Meredith; nephews, Nathaniel, Jacob, Dalton; one delightful greatnephew, Conner; and brother-in-law, Charles Johnson. A Celebration of Life will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at her home on 3002 Green Ridge Rd. in Roanoke. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Link Baby Program at Blue Ridge Community Services, 301 Elm Ave., Roanoke, Va. 24016. "She went to heaven to raise some hell.
