Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Arjay Young of Route 2, Centerville and Mrs. Anita Gorden of Plano; three grandchildren: Louis and Elizabeth Young and Kim Gorden; a sister, Mrs. Maude Haines of Plano and two brothers, Fred Lyon of San Diego, Calif.; and Artie Lyon of Yakima, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers and four sisters. He was dedicated to his work, always striving to do his best and lacking less than a month of surviving 50 years as a rural mail carrier at the time of his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Rural Letter Carriers Association.
Funeral was held from the Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. C. Donald Thrash officiating. He was laid to rest beside his wife in the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa.
