He was born May 6, 1926, in Sikeston, the son of Wylie Archie and Ada Jane Till Alliston. He married Linda S. James on Apr. 15, 1977, in Sikeston, she survives.
He worked as a lineman for Missouri Utilities and Union Electric. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War, then served for 40 years in the U.S. Naval Reserve, retiring in 1986 as a master chief petty officer.
He was a member of the Sikeston Masonic Lodge #310 AF&AM and of the Moolah Shrine Temple in St. Louis.
Also surviving are his two sons, Terry and Alan Alliston; three sisters, Ethel Gardner, Sue Gardner and Geneva Watson; and two grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be held Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
