Charline Lynnette Pierce was the first of nine children born to Cecil and Peggy Pierce, in Hebron, Nebraska, Febuary 22, 1954.

Charline spent her pre-school years on the farm near Reynolds, Nebraska. She attended her elementary school years in Haddam, Kansas until the her fifth year when the family moved from a farm in rural Narka to Byron, Nebraska. Charline was an independant child and was quite pretty, fun to be around, and well liked by most of her peers. She began working as a waitress at the Foote's cafe in Chester, Nebraska in her teenage years. When she was sixteen she met "Dink" aka Wayne Snyder from Superior, Nebraska who was in the Marines, and stationed in West Virginia. She quit school her after her eleventh year and was married to Dink on July 21, 1971, in Hebron, Nebraska, while he was home on leave. (He served in the Vietnam war.) After their marriage Charline stayed with his sister in Indiana for a time. When he returned home she joined him in West Virginia. After he was discharged from the service the couple lived in Superior, Nebraska. They were staying at her parents in Mankato, Kansas in February of 1973 when the arrival of their first child, Soan Stuart made his entrance. He was born in Superior, Nebraska on the 19th. Not long after the birth of their son they moved to Harvard, Nebraska, where Charline worked making trailer houses and Dink went to school in Hastings.

They moved to Mankato, Kansas where Dink got work at the Dubuque Packing Plant and Charline worked for her father in his private club. On March 15, 1979 the couple was blessed with a daughter, born in Salina, Kansas, and she was named after Charline's grandfather and grandmother, Venus Marie.

Dink then went on to become a meat inspector and the couple moved to Liberal, Kansas. Charline went back to school and while having to overcome many obstacles, graduated nursing school. She worked for a couple of years in a hospital in Wichita, Kansas on the onocology ward, while they were living in Oxford.

They bought a bar in Jewell, Kansas from her brother and they returned to the farm in Formoso that they had purchased several years prior. Charline worked in Superior as a nurse, and raised dogs. The couple built a beautiful log cabin home and she enjoyed decorating it with antiques. She was well known for being a hard worker, a good sister, and aunt to her neices and nephews. Being the oldest of the children she played the role of protector. She was always there when you needed her and wanted to "fix" any problem that came up. She was very artistic, and loved sewing and making quilts. She loved animals and filled her home with them.

She died of lung cancer on June 27, 2004, at her home in Formoso, Kansas, surrounded by her close family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Alta Nutsch of Haddam, and Venus and Marie Pierce. She leaves behind her parents, Cecil and Peggy Pierce, Narka, Kansas, four brothers, Jeff (Cathy), Henry (Kim), Matthew Pierce all of Mankato,KS, Clifford (Beverly)Pierce of Yukon, Oklahoma, four sisters, Susan (Vern) Holmes of Pacific, WA, Angelia "Gilly" (Roger)Reiter of Jewell, KS, Andrea "Annie" (Thomas)Held of Hermann, MO, and Beth (Mike)Svoboda of Narka, KS, a son, Soan Snyder, Formoso, KS, a daughter, Venus (Jeff) Geisler, two granddaughters of Downs, KS, her husband, and numerous neices and nephews.
