Shirley L. Baker
RACINE Shirley Louise Bunner Slider Baker, 54, of Racine passed away at 10:50 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 18, 2005) at her home on Valley Bell Road while battling cancer. She was in the care of hospice.
She was born Nov. 6, 1951, in Elkins, W.Va., the daughter of Donald R. Bunner of Virginia Beach, Va., and Gertrude Hutton Ringer of Buckhannon, W.Va.
She attended schools in Elkins, Parkersburg and Huntington, W.Va., Gallipolis and a one-room school in Excelsior, W.Va. She was a 1971 graduate of Williamstown High School. She was also a former member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Marietta.
She is survived by a husband, Jeffery A. Baker of Racine; three daughters, Misty Dawn Slider of Parkersburg, W.Va., Natalie Lynn Slider and Emilie Jayne Slider of Racine; one granddaughter, Vaida Caroline Dean; three stepchildren, Anthony, April and Gerald Baker; and mother and stepfather, Gertrude and Melvin Ringer of Buckhannon, W.Va.
Shirley wished for her body to be donated for the purpose of science research and her remains were given to the Gift of Life Foundation.
